This course is designed to build on and advance a student’s skills in the Tig (GTAW) welding process.
Emphasis will be placed on the student’s ability to prepare material and perform welding of fillet and butt welds in positions.

Students will learn about the health and safety practices associated with welding, machinery set-up and how to prepare material for welding. They will advance their Mig welding skills to an intermediate level in all positions including pipe. There is a theory element to the course and you will receive a training workbook including practical exercises and WPS.
This course is available during the day and evening hours.
Upon successful completion of the course, student will receive a Welding Academy Certificate of Completion.
Upon completion, the student should be able to:
Those completing Week 2 can progress onto Week 3 – Trade Weld Tests. Learners may also choose to do another process at the same level.
T1-Tig Course or previous Tig welding experience.
Each Student must outfit themselves with full Personal Protections Equipment (PPE) which includes:
Welding Helmet
Safety Glasses
Steel Cap Boots
Overalls
Gloves
Ear Plugs
Dust Masks
If you have your own PPE please bring it with you. PPE can be purchased from the Welding Academy.
Upon successful completion of the course, students will receive a Welding Academy Certificate of
Attendance.

Bookings must be confirmed with either a purchase order (Business accounts) or full payment to secure the booking.
Business account customers will be invoiced upon booking; our standard payment terms are 30 days unless otherwise agreed in advance.

The Welding Academy accepts customer cancellations without charge up to 7 days prior to commencement of training. Cancellation less than 7 days will incur a 50% course fee. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice will incur a 100% course fee. Transfers to alternative course dates will not incur any additional charge to the customer if the transfer is made up to 7 days prior to commencement of training. Where courses are under subscribed The Welding Academy may cancel or re-arrange a course at their discretion. Customers will be notified no later than 10 working days prior to the planned commencement date. Payment must be received 7 days in advance of the course start date (for non- account customers)
